The Effectiveness Cooperative Learning Model "Investigation Group" Towards The Conceptual Undestanding of 4th Grade Student's Elementary School
Abstract
Learning model is a tool used by teachers to achieve learning objectives, and serve as an
intermediary learning in order to the children understands the concept being taught. The
intended understanding relates to the process, the ability to understand a material.
Meanwhile the concept is an implied meaning or ideas contained in the learning. Based
on observations in elementary schools, many students are detected do not understand the
concept well because it is still a teacher center. As a result their understanding is only
limited to what is delivered by the teacher, does not develop based on their knowledge.
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of group investigation learning model to
understand the concept of fourth grade students of elementary school. This research is a
true experimental quantitative research with pretest-posttest control group design. The
population of this research is all fourth graders of elementary school. The data in this
research is obtained from the test of learning result, observation and documentation. The
result of analysis with t test is known t_ (count)> t_ (table) (2,2428> 2.01) then Ha
accepted. Thus, the group investigation model is effective towards understanding the
concept of grade 4 elementary school students
