INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING USES A CROSS-CULTURAL COUNSELING APPROACH TO IMPROVE RESPONSIBLE ATTITUDE

Abstract

This article discusses individual counseling using a cross-cultural counseling
approach to increase responsible attitudes. In this study, the research conducted
by the researcher included classroom action research on guidance and counseling.
The research subjects were six customers or six students who had problems and
needed service. Sources of incident data are based on observations, results of
document analysis (collection of student attendance, teacher notebooks at home).
Research shows that counselors who have low personal responsibility require 3
cycles in this research. Each cycle carries out two individual counseling activities
to determine how the client's self-responsibility is developing. The success of this
cycle can be seen from the increase in the client's sense of responsibility. A crosscultural approach to the implementation of counseling greatly influences the
behavior of clients.
