The Impact of Globalization Issues on Nations and Indonesian Character in Accordance with Civic Education
Abstract
This research aims to see the impact on globalization is a phenomenon that affects
various aspects of life, including social, cultural, political, and economic. The
impact of globalization in Indonesia is very significant, especially on the character
of the nation and national identity. Civic education in Indonesia has an important
role in shaping the nation's character to remain strong in the face of globalization,
by highlighting the importance of global civic education in facing challenges and
opportunities in the 21st century. This article aims to analyze the impact of
globalization issues on the nation and character of Indonesia, as well as the role of
civic education. This research uses a literature study method approach where
research is sourced from research articles and also library data collection, reading and recording, and managing research materials taken from journals about the
urgency, impact and challenges of globalization issues. The results show that
globalization has a positive impact, such as technological advances and
information disclosure, but also has negative impacts, such as the fading of cultural
identity and the weakening of a sense of nationality. Civic education plays a
strategic role in building critical attitudes, nationalism, and tolerance among the
younger generation. With the integration of national values and understanding of
global issues, civic education can be an important instrument to strengthen the
character of the Indonesian nation in the midst of globalization
