Abstract

This Community Service program was carried out to improve the understanding and awareness of students at SMP Kristen Citra Bangsa Mandiri Kupang regarding ethical behavior in digital communication (network etiquette or netiquette). Low digital literacy levels, unethical social media behavior, and findings of negative digital practices such as inappropriate language use, misinformation sharing, and cyberbullying served as the primary background for the activity. The program was implemented through the delivery of netiquette materials by professional speakers and university students, interactive discussions, ice-breaking sessions, question-and-answer activities, and the use of pre-tests and post-tests to measure changes in students’ understanding. The results indicate an improvement in students’ digital literacy, particularly regarding digital footprints, privacy protection, communication ethics, and awareness of cybercrime risks. Participant evaluations through online forms show positive responses toward speaker competence, material quality, and program relevance. This PKM activity provides a significant impact on shaping polite, safe, and responsible digital behavior among students. Continuous implementation is recommended to strengthen ethical digital practices within the school environment.
