Pendampingan Literasi Membaca melalui Program Bale Bace bagi Siswa SDN 1 Lebah Sempage
Abstract
Low reading literacy skills among upper-grade students at SDN 1 Lebah Sempage
present a significant obstacle in the learning process, with several students still struggling to
recognize letters and spell. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to improve students'
reading skills through the "Bale Bace" program. The implementation method includes problem
identification, program socialization, intensive reading mentoring, and evaluation of student
progress. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in the partners' literacy skills;
students who previously only recognized letters began to form syllables, while those who struggled
with fluency became more proficient in reading and understanding text content. Beyond the
cognitive aspects, the program also enhanced students' motivation and self-confidence in reading.
The Bale Bace program proved effective as a literacy intervention model in elementary schools
through a personalized mentoring approach.
